What we run.
Programs we run in London, and projects we helped start. Each one works on at least one of our three pathways: shifting mindsets, building relationships, and rights and basic needs for everyone.
TheRepair Café
Free repair, done together.
Volunteer fixers help people repair clothing, electronics, bikes, small appliances, jewellery and things around the house. It isn't a drop-off service. The fix happens on the table with you watching, and often you'll learn to do it yourself next time. If something can't be fixed, you leave knowing why and what to do next.
We run it with London Public Library and community venues across the city. No membership, no income test. Register for a date so the right fixer is there.

A lending library for the things you only need once in a while.
Members borrow tools, kitchen gear, garden tools, party supplies and more, instead of buying and storing them. It keeps good things in use and costs less than owning. It's handy for renters, students, makers and anyone with a one-off project.
Learning circles
Small, informal sessions where neighbours learn from each other. Screenings, talks, book clubs and hands-on sessions on composting, mending, reusable swaps and low-waste cooking. They're free, made for beginners and kept small, so everyone gets time with the materials.

Reimagining Power
Research and prototyping on how community tools, web3 among them, can shift power toward people who've been left out of decisions. What communities keep telling us is that they want a real say in the decisions that shape their lives, not just more funding.
So far that includes on-chain governance for ICS itself (a Safe multisig, theics.eth, Hats Protocol for roles and Snapshot for votes), hypercerts that make grassroots work visible to funders, and quadratic funding rounds for local artists. The Ontario Trillium Foundation is a partner on the project.

GetInvolved
Everything we do runs on volunteers: fixers, greeters, note-takers, set-up crews, photographers, and people who'll teach what they know. Most give a few hours a month at one Repair Café or workshop.
You don't need to be an expert. We need confident fixers, and just as much we need people to welcome visitors, keep track of repairs and help the day run smoothly.
